My birthday party is this weekend. I wanted to tell you all how I celebrate MY birthday. First I invite all the kids in my life to the party. I ask them to bring a parent (or two if they wish) and we meet at Chucke Cheese. I tell everyone all the time that all I want ever from them is a hug and a kiss. And I tell them all they are getting from me for any occasion is a hug and a kiss too. So, they come, with parent, and give me hugs and kisses on the cheeck. In return I give THEM gifts for comeing to share my special day with me and we play the games and eat the cardboard pizzas! The kids LOVE the day. I love seeing the kids so happy. The parents are miserable (LOL added plus) for a few hours. And we all have wonderful memories to keep in our hearts forever. It is such a treat to hear the kids telling friends later how much fun it is at their Nana's birthday party!
I didn't get to make memories with my grand parents so I try extra hard to make special ones for my grandkids.

The party went just great. The kids are getting a bit older now so I had them each bring a best friend to enjoy the day with. (Of course their friends got gifts too) Everyone had a super great time, especially me! My back was just KILLING me so I didn't get to play the games so much. But the hugs and the wonderful time watching the children I love best was more than gift enough for me to last all year.
Funny note: My grandson after being scolded by his Mother asked her why she couldn't be a cool Mom like his Nana was! The look on her face was priceless! She tried to tell him that I was NOT a cool Mom but he didn't buy her story at all.
