jake

jake is being a real trooper and is still on the cpap they turned his oxygen level down today and he is not yet in room air but he is really trying this time.

GO JAKE!

he developed a hernia last night on his lower left side. this worries me but the dr and nurses say that it is very common.

i am extremely stressed out right now and feeling a little under the weather so please pray that i am not getting sick.

thank u again for all the prayers and support and i will try to keep updating everyone. if i havn’t posted a blog---check jen’s

btw-i heard him sneeze today 3x

nice to have chest tube out.

for the 5th time
Current mood: nervous

they are extabating jake today which means that they are going to take the chest tube out and switch to a ventilator that has the prongs that go up the nose. this is the 5th time that they have attempted to switch him over and the last time they did it he did not recover for 2 days. he is strong but switching him always wears him out. hopefully his little lungs will cooperate today. say a quick prayer for jacob.

the reason they try to switch him so often is that having the chest tube in for too long could cause serious damage to his lungs and even cause lung disease. we want that chest tube out and to stay out. so jake has to start breathing on his own with a little help from the ventilator. with the chest tube he doesn’t have to do any work to breath. with this he will have to do most of the breathing himself.

jacobs surgery
Current mood: optimistic

jacobs heart surgery went well today. he remained stable through the whole thing. hopefully after this he will gain some weight. i got to hold him for the first time today before surgery. he is so tiny, but i believe even more now that he will pull through.

thanx to all who are praying.....he needs all the prayers he can get.

jacob is doing well. he opened his eyes yesterday. and he is hanging in there. still trying to breath on his own. baylee is doing well too. he is always asking to go see his baby brother.
