Any other whiny kids?

I don't know how my kids all got so whiny. It's almost funny to have them whine at me and I'll tell them (calmly) that they need to stop whining to talk to me. Then they whine even more about how they're not whining!!
Anyone with great ideas to curb it?

I got whiny ones. Funny thing is I don't know who is the whiniest my 24 year old son or the next oldest his 17 year old brother. LOL The other 3 which are 15 year old boy, 2 girls ages 13 and 9 don't whine. It's just the first two. One time the two were whining I got so fed up I sent hubby done to the store and made him purchase two baby bottles and I gave each one of them a bottle the look on their faces were pricless. LOL

Oh, I should try bottles! Maybe it's a good thing I don't have Melissa's packed away yet!
I keep hoping they'll grow out of it. They have some but certain ones are still incredibly whiny.

my dd whines some, but mostly I just have a hard time lighting that "fire" under her butt to get her moving! I'll tell her to go do somethng and it's always "in a minute" grr. Of course a minute is never 1, it's 5, 10 etc. Then she acts mad when I raise my voice after asking her 3 times to do 1 thing.
I'm open to suggestions on this one...at my wit's end lately!! :)

I am having the same problem with my 13yo. Everything is "in a minute" or "ok" and she keeps on doing what she was doing. Then she gets mad at me because I have ask her a second or even third time. If she growls at me and stomps away one more time I swear she is going to be grounded till she is 30..lol

Ugh, this is Lyndsey but she's only 6! I'm not sure what to do to get her moving, but if I have any brainstorms I'll definitely share!

Mine is 11.
She's been a little better lately. I've found that if I stick to my guns, consistenly, so that her whining doesn't work, then it isn't lasting nearly as long.
For example, I've been making her walk with me and usually she whines until she ruins it and cuts into my motivation. I've stopped letting her get that reaction from me, just making her go, and she resists much less. In fact, tonight, she actually rode her scooter but stayed beside me and chatted away! So basically, just not letting her whining WEAR ME DOWN and so she gets her way seems to be helping to minimize it.
Now, if I could just figure out how to make her move a little quicker. LOL

I forgot to ask you Tammy, can Haille come visit for the summer? It will give you more 11 year old practice.. hehe :)
