An update on Cassidy and Aaron's pulmonology appt.
      #107968 - 01/04/10 07:22 AM

They both had to be seen on last Tuesday. We got there at 2:45p.m. and didn't get to leave until 6:30p.m. We were very tired, it was a little over an hour drive to get to their doctor's office.

We had to get chest x-rays on both of them the day before the appointments. Aaron's chest x-ray was ok, Cassidy's was not. Her right middle lung if full of mucous, we had no idea, she was acting ok and had little runny nose.

Since Aaron has been sick lots with his Asthma, the doctor will be scheduling a bronchoscopy and some blood work to check for allergies. The pulmonologist will be getting into contact with Aaron's GI doctor to see if the GI doctor wants to do another EGD, if so they will do all the procdures the same time. So we are waiting on that appointment to be scheduled. They changed Aaron's Asthma care plan and added some medicine to help along with his asthma medicines. He will go back and see the lung doctor in 3 months.

Cassidy has been very sick due to lung problems and hospitalized three times so far from it. They sent her for a neck x-ray and blood work to check her for allergies while we were there. They are waiting to see if they will do an bronchoscopy on her also. They did change her medicines and added another medicine to help along with her asthma medicines also. Cassidy has to go back in 6 weeks to check on her lungs again. We have to do CPT twice a day for the next 6 weeks until she goes back to see the doctor.

Both kids are scheduled to have a Sweat Chloride Test done on January 15th at 11:00a.m. Then on January 18th they both are scheduled to have a Sleep Study done, it will be Aaron's third one and Cassidy's first. We already know Aaron has Central Sleep Apnea due to his brain dammage, and he still doesn't sleep well. Cassidy also doesn't sleep well so they want to make sure she doesn't have any sleep apnea.

So far January is going to be busy with Aaron and Cassidy's doctor appointments and procedures alone. Aaron will be seeing his Neurodevelopmental doctor on January 12th, Cassidy ENT doctor on January 14th, Sweat Chloride tests on January 15th, Both kids will see their GI doctor on January 18th and then go for their sleep study later that evening on January 18th.

Wow! That's a lot for those two little ones to go through. Is this something that getting answers will help in treatments or just give answers? Hopefully things will get better.

Wow Amy you have your hands full. Keeping you and the kids in my prayers.

My youngest Sarah has severe asthma and she also has autism. Seems the winter we are always in the pulmonary doctors office.
