Baked Spaghetti
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 8 oz uncooked angel hair pasta 1 cup grated cheddar cheese 1 cup grated monterey jack
Brown ground beef in large deep skillet over medium high. Add pasta sauce to brown meet, rinse sauce jar with about 1/2 cup water and add that to skillet too. Lower heat to low and simmer the sauce and meat while you get the rest ready to go. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Cover the bottom of a 9 X 13 X 2-inch pan with sauce. Add a layer of pasta and a little less than half of each of the cheeses. Reapeat the layers (sauce, pasta, cheese) and end with a layer of sauce covering the cheese. Bake in a preheated 350 deg oven for about 30 minutes. Top the spaghetti with the remaining cheese and return to the oven and continue to cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly (5 to 10 minutes more).
Okay, that being the basic recipe, this is great because you can use whatever you have on hand. I have used Italian sausage and regular breakfast sausage for the meat...just remove from the casing and substitute for the ground beef. I also frequently replace the angel hair for ravioli or tortellini...I just use one large Costco sized package of the fresh pasta. I also tend to just use the bags of pre-shredded cheese (whatever variety I have on hand)and I just spread it on as much as I want, and I LOVE cheese!
Enjoy!
